Support the chapter
Five funds, and exactly what each one buys.
The chapter is run by volunteers, so almost everything given goes to the work itself rather than to overhead. Each fund below is separate: a gift to the grave marker fund buys bronze, and a gift to the wreath program buys wreaths. If you would rather we decide, the annual appeal is the most useful gift we receive.

2026 Chapter Appeal
Help us put a marker on every patriot grave in Missouri.
Four hundred documented Revolutionary War patriots are buried in this state. Fewer than half have a marker. Our members find them, verify the record, and pay for the bronze.

Every fund
Patriot Grave Marker Fund
$5,000 goal
Bronze markers, flag holders and the archive research that finds the next unmarked grave. Roughly two hundred dollars sets one marker.
Youth Scholarship and Essay Fund
$7,500 goal
Prizes and travel for the Knight Essay and Rumbaugh Oration contests, and the chapter's Eagle Scout scholarship.
Color Guard Equipment Fund
$3,500 goal
Hunting frocks, cartridge boxes, flints and flags. The chapter keeps a set of loaner kit so a new compatriot can turn out without buying a uniform first.
Veterans Wreath Program
$2,500 goal
Wreaths laid by hand at Jefferson Barracks and smaller county cemeteries each December. About fifteen dollars a wreath, delivered.
Chapter Annual Appeal
$10,000 goal
Unrestricted support: meeting space, the newsletter, insurance for public events, medals and certificates, and delegate costs.
Other ways to give
Employer matching
Many employers match charitable gifts from staff and retirees. The chapter is a 501(c)(3), so a matched gift doubles without costing you anything further.
Bequests and legacies
A line in a will, a beneficiary designation on a policy, or a gift of appreciated stock. Speak to your own adviser, then tell our treasurer so the chapter can plan.
Gifts in kind
Uniform components, flags, printing, meeting space, or professional time. Genealogical research hours are as valuable to this chapter as cash.
Not sure where it should go?
Tell us what you care about — the graves, the students, the color guard — and we will tell you honestly which fund needs it most this year.
